Dizzy Spell (GER)

Founded in 2001, Dizzy Spell have since played at venues and festivals across Germany. But why the name? A dizzy spell is what may befall you for just listening to the band's vibrant Irish dance tunes. But don't worry, it can be cured by getting up and stepping it out like Mary in one of their traditional Irish songs. Or by staying on and listening to the charming songs the band have gathered from all corners of the world, Down Under included, where Irish people have emigrated, mostly onboard ship. But other peoples, too, have lovely music and enchanting stories, as Dizzy Spell discovered on their numerous individual travels and stays across Europe, Africa, Australia and the Americas. A happy-go-lucky Spanish a-cappella dance song, a dark Faroese song on a Scottish general fighting a farmers' uprising in Norway (with the sea and a mermaid playing major parts!), or a weird Finnish love song, you name it … Come and enjoy music played on fiddle, flute, guitar, electric bass and percussion instruments, and songs sung in the sweet harmony of four voices.
